April Blackman
April, originally from Kansas has always been involved in sports and fitness, growing up on the tennis court and running competitive track. April knew she wanted to pursue a career in health and wellness and earned a masters degree in Kinesiology at WSU in Wichita, KS. While working on her degree she started a personal training business that lasted for 25 years alongside raising a family. After moving to Dallas in 2001, April fell in love with yoga and taught for many years, learning the value of mindful movement. In 2012 she was introduced to the Lagree method and thought it felt like a fun and efficient way to strength train. She then found her way to Studio 6 where she started teaching for Elizabeth in her first Preston Hollow studio. Being back at Studio 6 has felt like coming home and April feels like it’s just as effective now as it was then. April will offer you a workout that’s customizable to each client in the room by offering more intensity or modifications if needed!
