Trainer Spotlight: Meet Tom

Tom joined our studio just a few months ago as an enthusiastic client. He quickly turned his mega addiction into a job by joining our team first as a trainer and now as the Assistant Manager of our new Plano studio. With a toe still in the IT world, Tom is our resident computer guy and a Jack of many trades. We've enjoyed having him as part of both our training and CSS family and we know our clients do too. Where are you from originally: Dallas Native - South of 635 if you can believe it!

Why do you love the Megaformer and the Lagree Method: I had just reached a fitness level where I was pretty confident when I thought about trying a Pilates class.  My first class was the Megaformer and the Lagree method.  Needless to say, I was humbled by the experience.  I’d never had a workout that was as tough.  I’ve been doing Lagree and Megaformer for about 18 months now and it’s as challenging today as it was when I started.

What brought you to Studio 6: I found the Megaformer at another studio and was hooked.  I was on an unlimited pass and was going 2 times a day, a few days a week.  I was then informed that the unlimited pass actually had a “once a day” limit - unlimited - Ha!  Anyway, that happened just as Studio 6 Plano was opening so the new studio caught my attention and I couldn’t be happier that I found the studio(s) and the awesome community that came with it

What is your favorite Megaformer move: Crossover Lunge

Three things I cannot live without: Apple products, Music, Eyeglasses

My favorite post workout snack: Protein Smoothie with Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry and a bit of Kale.

My biggest pet peeve: When exiting the tollroad at high speeds, how “Yield to Ramp” is completely lost to every other motorist.

My dream vacation: I went to Sydney, Australia years back for work for a few weeks.  I got to see just enough to make me want to return for a real vacation there some day.

My favorite thing to do when I am not at Studio 6:  Exercising or I’m still a computer guy, so likely tinkering with some software.

Three words to describe me: Dependable, Disciplined, Detailed

Unusual childhood memory: I had Matchbox & Hot Wheels cars and I would catch lightning bugs and let them ride in the small toy cars.  Hey, it seemed like they needed “wheeled” transportation to me!

Something most people don’t know about me: This one stumped me.  I guess I’m a pretty open book. Ask me anything...

My personal fitness advice: Real change is hard.. you’ve really got to push yourself, pay attention to what you eat, how much, and don’t give up.  Embrace the challenge!
