Risa is one of our dedicated client-turned-trainers. She grew up in Texas playing tennis and carried fitness throughout her life. Risa received her certification in 2013, training under Sebastien Lagree in LA and has been a beloved trainer with Studio 6 Fitness since she joined us. When not instructing, Risa can be found with her two children, riding her horse, on the tennis court, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with friends. Learn more about Risa.
Where did you grow up: Plainview, TX
What is your favorite part of being an instructor: The people! Our clients are the greatest! It is very rewarding to see how hard they work - many come day after day to accomplish their goals. It is especially rewarding when I see someone experience body changes and gain confidence in themselves and I know I'm a part of that transformation.

What is your favorite move: Bungee Cord hands down. It's torture, but so effective in shaping and strengthening your legs.
What three things can’t you live without: Peanut Butter, lip balm and my family.
How long have you been in the fitness industry: I've been teaching Lagree fitness since 2013. I am a client turned instructor. I had the privilege of getting trained and certified by Sebastian Lagree when I lived in LA.
Favorite post-workout snack: A Nutty Monkey Smoothie from South Paws Grill.

Favorite thing to do when you’re not teaching: Spending time with my kids and fiancé Ben, hanging out at the ranch, playing tennis, binge watching my latest TV show find (currently it's "Pretty Little Liars" with my daughter) and cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs.
Three words to describe you: compassionate, determined and adventurous.
Unusual child memory: There are so many! I grew up in a small town where we had to get very creative to stay entertained. Deciding to spray wash the street in front of my house sticks out as my most unusual!!
