Trainer Spotlight: Meet Cindy

Cindy is a Senior Trainer and our Training Development Manager. She joined Studio 6 Fitness after teaching the Lagree method on the East coast for several years. A Pittsburgh native and former University of Maryland Division 1 swimmer, Cindy was looking for a way to stay in top shape post-college. After trying virtually every workout under the sun, she found Lagree Fitness and has been hooked on the Megaformer ever since. She has quickly become a client favorite and an amazing member of our Studio 6 Fitness family. Here's a little more about Cindy:

Name: Cynthia "Cindy" Grinnon
Where did you grow up: I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and then went to college at the University of Maryland in College Park.  After college, I lived in Arlington, Virginia for 10 years before moving to Dallas.
What is your favorite part of being an instructor: I love being able to meet and motivate a variety of people to help them achieve their goals.
Why do you love the Megaformer: I love the Megaformer because it allows you to work your body in a completely different way than other forms of exercise especially your core.
What is your Favorite move: My favorite move is the Super Lunge!  It is the perfect upper body/lower body exercise!
What three things can’t you live without: Besides my family, I can't live without exercise, sleep, and granola bars.
How long have you been in the fitness industry: I have been in the fitness industry for almost 5 years.  Prior to the fitness industry, I was a school teacher and swim coach. for 10 years. 
Favorite post-workout snack: Juice Bar's Fresh Greens or Trader's Joes Simply Almonds, Cashews, & Chocolate Trek Mix
Biggest pet peeve: My biggest pet peeve is when people do not use their turn signals to switch lanes.
Dream vacation spot: Maui, Hawaii
Favorite thing to do when you’re not teaching: I love to hang out and go on walks with my husband and daughter, Mikayla.
Three words to describe you: Personable, Caring, and Dedicated 
Unusual child memory: Saving my little brother from our swimming pool when he was 2 years old.
Personal fitness secret: It is not a secret.  I enjoy eating healthy, staying current with fitness trends, and staying active by running and doing classes at Studio 6 Fitness.
