Meet Emily, Studio Director



How long have you been in the fitness industry?

I have been in the fitness industry for over 15 years. I’ve done it all, but weight lighting, boxing and Pilates were my favorites! Fitness has always been a lifestyle for me but it became a passion when I started training others.


How and when did you join the Studio 6 family?

After years of classical Pilates, I met Elizabeth and took my first class on the Megaformer. I was hooked! I love using all of the knowledge I’ve learned in fitness and applying it to the Lagree Method. The results are amazing, and I never get bored! I opened Studio 6 with Elizabeth in 2012 and have been fortunate enough to train in LA several times with Sebastien Lagree.

What are your favorite Mega Moves?

What I love about the Megaformer is the great work it does on the back side, which is something I did not get from classical Pilates. My favorite moves would have to be the Skater, Spider Kick and Elevator Lunge.


Where can we find you when you aren't at the studio?
I’m a home body! I love fixing up my new house and spending time with my son and our new puppy!


What's your #1 piece of fitness advice?
I get a lot of questions about losing weight. I’ve done it myself, and I have seen the results. There is no magic pill or fad diet. It’s healthy choices all the time, it’s a lifestyle to eat healthy, you feel better and your body functions better. Food is your fuel! Advice for weight loss, eliminate things one at a time that are bad in your diet. I would start with sugar.

Playlist must have?
New or old songs that people can relate to! They have to flow together and have a beat that you can get into and stay into during the moment of intensity. I love to change it up, but I always have Calvin Harris and Justin Bieber on my playlists.
